This is the list of equipment/tools I have in my arsenal.  Of special note is my standard equipment, of which I use almost every item for every project.  I'll update it as I buy anything new.

3 mil plastic drop cloth

Cleaning
bleach solution (10% - kills pretty much EVERYTHING), made fresh everytime
white vinegar (for surfaces on which you can't use bleach)
HOT water
spray bottle
paper towels
cloth rags (we use old socks at our house, then I don't feel bad about throwing them out!)
Shop Vac (wet/dry vacuum, can suck up ANYTHING - including screws, etc.)
shop broom
small broom
small dust pan
snow shovel (use it as a LARGE dust pan)

Basic Sewing/Crafts
hot glue gun and "low temp" melt glue sticks - the duct tape of a crafter's arsenal
needle for hand stitching
pins and a pin cushion

SHARP scissors
a decent lamp - good lighting protects your eyes while doing "fine" work
iron
ironing board
sewing machine (all you really need is a "zig zag" machine - it does a straight stitch, a zig zag stitch, and button holes)
seam ripper - because even the best of us make mistakes

hem marker (handy if sewing for yourself; helpful when marking hems for others too!)
rotary cutter and cutting mat
pattern weights (I use glass tea light holders - $1 each from the dollar store)
